Stop Settling for ‘Good Enough’: The Vision Method for Making Midlife Your Launchpad, Not Your Limitation with Allison Maslan

Stop Settling for ‘Good Enough’: The Vision Method for Making Midlife Your Launchpad, Not Your Limitation with Allison Maslan

What if I told you that the biggest transformations in your life could happen after 50? That the house you’ve been dreaming of, the business breakthrough you’ve been seeking, or the relationship you’ve been hoping for isn’t just possible—but that midlife might actually be the perfect time to create it all?

I’ve been exploring this question deeply in my own life and with the women in our community. Too many of us have bought into the narrative that our best years are behind us, that we should settle for “good enough” when it comes to our health, our homes, our relationships, and our dreams.

That’s why I brought my friend Allison Maslan back to the show. At 60, she’s living proof that midlife can be a launchpad rather than a limitation. She’s built multiple eight-figure businesses, manifested two dream houses (including a resort property in Mexico), learned trapeze in her fifties, and created what she calls a “deliberate life” through what she terms “vision crafting.”

But here’s what makes Allison’s story so compelling—she’s not sharing theory. She’s sharing the actual process she uses daily, the same one that helped her navigate cash flow crises, manifest properties that “weren’t for sale,” and build the globally recognized business coaching company Pinnacle Global Network.

The Science Behind Vision: More Than Just Wishful Thinking

When Allison talks about vision work, she’s not discussing some mystical concept. She describes it as applied quantum physics—the same energy that connects us through this conversation right now. The idea is that when you raise your energetic vibration through visualization and gratitude, you begin attracting opportunities, people, and solutions from that higher level.

This isn’t about ignoring reality or pretending problems don’t exist. Allison describes putting challenges in what she calls a “mental drawer”—acknowledging them without letting them consume her creative energy. Instead, she channels that energy toward holding and feeling her vision.

The key distinction she makes is between hoping for something and knowing it will happen. Hope implies uncertainty and distance from your goal. Knowing creates what she calls an “absolute reality” in your mind, which then begins to manifest in your external world.

The House That Vision Built (Twice)

Allison’s housing stories perfectly illustrate this principle in action. Living in a small house with a bedroom that had no windows, she consistently held the vision of a home with expansive windows and space for her trapeze equipment. When their house kept falling out of escrow and they found their dream property, traditional logic said it was impossible—they couldn’t sell their current house, and the sellers had other buyers waiting.

But instead of accepting defeat, Allison held firm to her vision. She visualized living in the house, feeling what it would be like to wake up there each morning. When her husband suggested maybe it wasn’t meant to be, she responded with absolute certainty: “No, this is it.”

The breakthrough came during a weekend deadline—they had to find a buyer or lose the house forever. Allison spent the entire weekend visualizing and feeling herself living in that house. They got a buyer that weekend.

The Mexico property story is even more remarkable. Initially looking for a small condo, they ended up with a seven-bedroom resort property that had been explicitly marked as “not for sale” by the developer. Through consistent vision work and journaling, the supposedly impossible became reality within six weeks.

The Daily Practice That Changes Everything

What sets Allison apart isn’t just her success—it’s her systematic approach to creating it. Every morning, she follows what she calls her vision crafting process:

Step 1: Inspiration Input She begins by listening to something uplifting—Wayne Dyer, Joe Dispenza, Esther Hicks, or spiritual teachings. This immediately shifts her brain from daily stress to possibility.

Step 2: Gratitude for What Is She writes down everything she’s grateful for in her current reality—her bulldog Gigi, the sunshine, her health, whatever is actually happening in her life.

Step 3: Gratitude for What’s Coming This is where the magic happens. She writes gratitude statements as if her vision has already happened: “I’m so grateful that our company is now in 30 countries around the world and it feels so exciting to be traveling to all these different places.”

Step 4: Setting Intentions She writes down intentions (not goals or hopes) for every area of her life. An intention, she explains, means it’s going to happen—she’s fully committed to making it reality.

Step 5: The Visualization With upbeat music playing, she closes her eyes and visualizes herself living her intentions. She doesn’t see the vision as something distant—she places herself directly in the middle of it, experiencing it as if it’s happening right now.

When Life Gets in the Way

The most relatable part of Allison’s story might be how she handles setbacks and daily challenges. She’s had cash flow crises that threatened her business, employees who didn’t align with her vision, and the normal stress that comes with running multiple companies.

Her approach during the cash flow challenges was particularly instructive. When her accounting team would say things like “I don’t know how we’re going to make payroll,” she would literally tell them they weren’t allowed to speak that way to her. She’d acknowledge the reality on paper while holding the vision of abundance and solutions.

This wasn’t denial—it was strategic energy management. Rather than putting her creative energy into the problem, she channeled it toward solutions and opportunities. Consistently, the money would appear through unexpected sources, new clients, or innovative solutions.

The Ripple Effect: From Personal Vision to Global Impact

What started as Allison’s personal practice has become the foundation of how she helps other entrepreneurs scale their businesses. Through Pinnacle Global Network, she works with seven, eight, and nine-figure business owners who are often stuck despite their apparent success.

Many of these entrepreneurs are working 60-80 hours a week, making seven-figure revenue but taking home very little profit. They’re exhausted, overwhelmed, and wondering why they started their business in the first place.

Allison’s approach combines strategic business methods with the vision work she’s perfected in her own life. She helps these leaders see beyond their current limitations and hold bigger visions for their companies. When they combine practical scaling strategies with elevated vision work, she says the results happen at “rapid speed.”

One client went from one failed martial arts location to planning 1,000 franchise locations. Another completely transformed their leadership approach and company culture. The common thread is that once these leaders begin holding bigger visions and operating from that elevated energy, they start attracting the people, opportunities, and solutions needed to make those visions reality.

The Midlife Advantage: Why Now Is Your Time

There’s something particularly powerful about doing this work in midlife. Allison points out that by this stage of life, most of us have developed resilience through various challenges—divorces, difficult teenagers, business setbacks, health scares. This life experience actually becomes an advantage when it comes to vision work.

We’re less likely to get derailed by temporary setbacks because we’ve survived them before. We have more clarity about what we actually want versus what we think we should want. And perhaps most importantly, we have a clearer sense of our own mortality, which can create urgency around living fully.

Allison’s question that shifted her thinking about the Mexico property applies to all of us: “If not now, when? What are you waiting for—until you’re 70 or 80?”

Practical Applications for Your Life

You don’t need to be building an eight-figure business to apply these principles. Whether you’re struggling with stubborn weight that won’t budge, wanting to improve your relationship, seeking a new living situation, or hoping to change careers, the process remains the same.

Start with five minutes a day. Find a quiet space, get into gratitude for what you currently have, then write and visualize your intentions as if they’re already happening. Pay attention to the feeling states you create during this process—that elevated emotion is what begins to shift your reality.

Most importantly, learn to make decisions from where you’re going, not where you’re currently at. When you’re looking only at current circumstances, you see closed doors, limitations, and reasons why things won’t work. When you make decisions from your vision, new possibilities and solutions become visible.

The Language of Transformation

One subtle but powerful aspect of Allison’s approach is her consciousness around language. She notices when she or others use words like “struggle,” “hard,” “stressful,” or “chaotic.” These words carry energetic weight and influence both how we feel and what we attract.

This doesn’t mean pretending everything is perfect, but rather choosing language that supports your vision rather than reinforcing your problems. Instead of “this is so hard,” try “I’m learning to navigate this.” Instead of “I’m struggling with my health,” experiment with “I’m discovering what my body needs to thrive.”

Your Midlife Vision Starts Now

The most inspiring aspect of Allison’s story isn’t her houses or her business success—it’s her embodiment of the principle that we can be deliberate creators of our lives at any age. She didn’t stumble into success; she systematically created it through consistent daily practices and unwavering commitment to her vision.

If you’re feeling stuck in any area of your life, if you’ve been telling yourself that your best years are behind you, or if you’ve been playing small because you think dramatic change isn’t possible at your age, Allison’s story offers a different narrative.

Your midlife years can be your most expansive, creative, and fulfilling. The vision you hold for your health, your relationships, your living situation, and your purpose doesn’t have an expiration date. The question isn’t whether transformation is possible—it’s whether you’re ready to become the deliberate creator of your own life.

What vision will you start holding today?
