Athlete Mentality may be your missing link to reaching your goals. How hard are you REALLY working and what are you working FOR? Are you doing EVERYTHING possible to make your GOAL a priority and your FOCUS?

What is “Athlete Mentality”? Well- It is that competitive, “failure is NOT an option” attitude. It is that “I will not quit!” drive, and that energetic motivation that comes from deep within. You can adopt athlete mentality in anything you do and with ANY goal (job, relationship, your health…) The key is that we have to ACT AS IF.

  • TRAIN like an athlete if you want to be one.
  • ACT as a successful career person if you want to be one.
  • ACT as an amazing parent if you want to be that.

Have you ever watched a TRUE athlete train? If you have, you know what I am talking about. If you have not, try to imagine these things:

How hard are they working?
What are their priorities?
Are they complaining?
Are they cheating sets, reps and time?
Are they coming up with excuses to NOT workout?
Do they ever miss a workout?
Do they chit chat while training?
Do they READ while training?
What kind of music do they play?
Do they push themselves when they don’t “Feel like it?”
Do they whine?
Do they lean on the “DREAD”mill reading while working out?

Are they fueling their body with good nutrition for great performance or…
Are they starving themselves when the “scale” doesn’t read the ridiculously low number so many of us beat ourselves up over daily?!

Athlete Mentality is amazing.

Once you recognize what it IS you realize where we are not applying it. If you want to be the BEST at something, you must have athlete mentality. If you want to make a major transformation with yourself, you ALSO must have athlete mentality.

I have this written in my planner these days and I read it daily:

I am an athlete.
I eat like an athlete. I train like an athlete. I focus like an athlete. I recover like an athlete. I hydrate like an athlete. I stretch like an athlete. I rest and sleep like an athlete. I prioritize my schedule and my time like an athlete. I AM an athlete.
