The Truth About Abs!

Probably THE most common questions I get revolve around how to get abs / a 6-pack / or a flat belly and how to keep it that way. Soooo, I’m going to REALLY shed some light on this topic for you today.
And, for all you ladies out there that have had a baby or lost a lot of weight, I have something special (very REAL) to show you. It wasn’t easy, but I think you will appreciate it (must read the whole thing).
First, I want to preface that I am 45 years old, have given birth, and I am NOT a fitness competitor or bodybuilder.I do not “diet down” to get my abs. In fact, I have had them pretty much around the clock the past few years due to creating and living a healthy LIFESTYLE!

For most people to get abs, it takes CONSISTENCY! That means a healthy LIFESTYLE…NOT fad diets, short term diets, diet pills, or other quick fixes. You have to lose body fat, and TONE the underlying muscle.

I want to BE REAL with you…
This isn’t easy, but I think it will help a LOT of women out there. We all try so hard to ‘look good’ and all of that, which is totally understandable. BUT, if you have had a baby or lost a lot of weight, you will have loose skin.
I have seen a LOT of comments from women lately really stressing this extra skin after giving birth. This is something I have NEVER shared before, and it never occurred for me to share it, until my cousin was complaining about her loose skin after having a baby and she said something about me “not having that problem”.
Once I showed her my stomach in this way, it made her feel soooo much better to realize that ‘even the girl with abs’, is dealing with the same thing.
For the record: downward dog will NEVER be flattering for me, or anybody else that has had a baby (unless they were in their teens or early twenties when they did so…and even then, no guarantees).
I know some people will say “I don’t see your face…that isn’t you”. If you watch the video above, you WILL see that it is 100% me! This screenshot is just to show that on top of my abs, I have some ‘not so pretty’ skin.
So stop beating yourself up! I have had a TON of women send me pictures of their stomachs and loose skin. The one thing I will say is yes, there is some loose skin, BUT from the pics I have seen, still a lot of body fat that can be lost…which will drastically improve the appearance.
Remember, consistency with a healthy LIFESTYLE is key! YOU GOT THIS!
