Ab exercises for beginners
Ab workouts are the NUMBER ONE request I get! So, I am listening and sharing more and more.
Today, we are whittling down that middle. ANY level can do these, even beginners! All you need is your own body weight.
Shimmies Side-to-Side (with a twist)
Lie on your back with your feet on the ground and keeping that back as flat against the ground as possible, you’re going to point your fingers toward your heels and shimmie side-to-side. Now, staying on the ground, lift your hips slightly, squeezing those glutes and continue to shimmie. You can lift your head or keep it down; whatever is most comfortable for you. And lastly, just come back down and continue with those shimmies. It doesn’t look like a lot of work, but it burns!
Hand to Opposite Toe
Lay flat, hands over head and take one hand to opposite toe, rotating legs each time. I know I sound repetitive, but keep that lower back planted into the mat, abs tight, core engaged, always eliminating the C-Curve.
Roll onto stomach, come up onto your forearms and toes into a plank position and roll your hips side to side. Keep that pelvis tucked under as much as possible!
Crawl & Walk Out
Get down into a crawl position and walk all the way out, reaching as far as you can and come back. As you bring it back in, you can keep those knees slightly bent.
