Nothing “Just Happens”

I have been called a lot of things in my life…

…but NEVER a pushover. I love to help others but ONLY those who want to help themselves first. No matter WHAT you are dealing with, if you are working towards a solution I will support you every step of the way. If you want to convince me as to why your excuse is valid I am going to show you a little tough love.

Here is what  I know for sure…Nothing Just Happens

Things don’t just happen – you have to MAKE them happen.  You will not get fit by accident and you won’t get fat by accident. You won’t just “happen” to land a great job and you won’t just “happen” to lose one. There are always signs and there are ALWAYS steps from A to Z.  You don’t gain 50 lbs overnight and you won’t lose them overnight either. Maybe somebody else has better “genes” than you and maybe you have more “challenges” than they do, but it doesn’t mean you can’t MAKE things happen. Where there is a will there is ALWAYS a way…but it takes planning, accountability, hard work, and thinking outside of the box to MAKE things happen. I am not saying it will be EASY, I am saying you can FIND A WAY and MAKE things happen…as nothing just happens!

YOU are accountable for your successes and failures – Sink or swim…it is ALL you. Sure you may have it easier or harder than others but it is ALL you. When you land that promotion, fit into your “skinny jeans” or conquer that marathon; that was all YOUR doing. When you let yourself go, when you lose that deal you were working on, when you skip your training days and can’t complete the run, that was you too.

It is no one Else’s fault-  The blame game is a waste of time.  Sure there may be people that are difficult, controlling, demanding, and demeaning, but YOU made the choice to have them in your life and YOU continue to make the choice to be in their presence.

It may be difficult to break away but it CAN be done. If you don’t know HOW to break away ask for help. Don’t complain; ASK for help and find a way. Choose NOT to let others actions affect you. No one forces you to eat certain foods, to look a certain way or to live a certain place. NO one FORCES you to do anything. You always have a choice.  Choose to accept the people and situations in your life or choose to handle things the “facebook way,” DELETE AND BLOCK them from your life!

You make your own luck and you create opportunities – It is RARE that you will just win the lottery or get “discovered” to do your dream job. You have to MAKE things happen. Look for opportunities, take risk, work towards your goals and dreams and CREATE opportunities.

You can’t be anyone else so stop trying – And even if you COULD why would you want to be?  It is so much easier to focus on being your best YOU! It is much more obtainable! Focus on what you have to work with, don’t compare yourself to others and be your best you.
